The 2026 blackout calendar
Blackouts apply to the date each flight departs. A return leg on an eligible day is fine even if you were away during a blackout.

August has no blackout dates at all — the only clear month on the calendar. Frontier can revise this list, so treat it as a planning reference and confirm the current calendar on Frontier's site before booking around a specific date.
The edge-date strategy
Experienced passholders don't fight blackout dates — they fly the edges. Every blackout cluster is bracketed by wide-open days, and because blackouts block the flight day rather than the trip, you can sit at your destination right through one.
December worked example
Fly out December 17, home January 2: a 16-day holiday trip with both flights on the pass, straight through a 13-day blackout. Edge days often have better GoWild availability too, because everyone else is flying inside the peak.
Common questions
Can I be at my destination during a blackout period?+
Yes. Blackout dates restrict only the day each flight departs, never the trip as a whole. Fly out before the blackout starts, stay right through it, and fly home after it ends.
Can I still fly on a blackout date if I need to?+
Yes, just not on the pass. You can buy a regular cash ticket for that date like any other traveller. The pass doesn't have to cover every trip to pay for itself.
Do blackout dates make the pass a bad deal?+
Depends entirely on your calendar. 62 blocked days still leaves 303 eligible ones. If your travel life revolves around Christmas, Thanksgiving and spring break week, the pass is fighting you. If you can travel whenever, the blackouts barely register.
Do these dates change?+
Frontier publishes the calendar in advance but can revise it. Always confirm the current list on Frontier's own site before locking in plans around a specific date.
